Msg from John Robinson with the National Weather Svc.: The approach of a cold front will trigger some thunderstorms in Arkansas today. There will be probably be at least a few severe thunderstorms from early this afternoon through 8 or 9 PM this evening. Most of the state is included in the severe weather threat. The least likely areas should be south central and southeast sections close to the Louisiana border. Damaging winds will have a greater chance of occurring than large hail. No widespread heavy rain is expected. However, the stronger storms will be capable of dropping more than an inch of rain in one hour.
