Mt Sion hazard reduction update - Hazard reduction is occurring as per plan, with the intended flame height and intensity, the objective of reducing the ground fine fuels, is being well and truly achieved. FRNSW crews from Glenbrook, Springwood and Mt Druitt will be on scene for some time to come, carrying out mopping up duties and blacking out the perimeter. This necessary work is being carried out to reduce the threat potential for bushfire in the Mt Sion area, in addition to encouraging the regeneration of native flora. Please be mindful of fire vehicle traffic in the Mt Sion vicinity, as fire crews access water hydrants located in surrounding streets.
