Much Ado About Malabu’s OPL 245 We are at this point very pained over the several and protracted drama With respect to Malabu Oil & Gas OPL 245 and the constant attempt by every Tom, Dick and Harry to victimize one of our Niger Delta illustrious sons Chief Dan Etete for no reasonable reason at all. At this point it has become imperative to inform all those who seek to champion the noise making on the issue of Malabu’s OPL 245, especially the Senate, Otumba Oyewole Fasawe and the Abacha family that there is indeed no secret any more in the Malabu’s OPL 245 matter and there is nothing that the world does not know concerning OPL 245 Oil Block, so their recent noise making will be unnecessary. May we also state here that the person of Chief Dan Etete, has suffered more than enough victimization and persecution both at home and abroad on this same issue and we can no longer tolerate such broad day light marginalization any further. We are very confident that all these drama of a probe can only happen when a “minority” Ijaw man is involved, but can never and will never happen if the said OPL 245 was owned by a Northern or Westerner or even Lebanese like the Gilbert and Roland chagouri brothers. Just to refresh the memories of Nigerian: it was for the same OPL 245 that former President Olusegun framed our son chief Etete in a Monkey trail in France and ever since, it has been from one set up to another but the God he serves has always vindicated him. Between 2002-2003, the House of Representatives held the Country to a stand still for 10 good months and almost on daily basis probing this same Malabu’s OPL 245, months after the Senate took up same probe. Also in 2011 again, the House of Representatives opened a probe on this same Malabu’s OPL 245 and now again it is the turn of the Senate. We are tempted to ask: is Malabu’s OPL 245 the only Oil Block in Nigeria? Or is it a crime for an Ijaw man to own an Oil Block? Or are the Danjuma’s, the Abacha’s, the Dantata’s, or even the Lebanese Roland and Gilbert, Chagouri Brothers, etc who own Oil Blocks better entitled than an Ijaw man? We unequivocally and in clear terms challenge Otumba Oyewole Fasawe to tell the world and indeed Nigerians how his PECOS Energy Limited got involved in OPL 245, if he was not a common front for former President Olusegun Obasanjo and Vice President Atiku Abubaka. A man who was constantly and deliberately used by the previous administration to loot and suck the common wealth of Nigerians can now open his mouth to challenge the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation and even have the effrontery to call the Attorney General a liar, a man who has made more meaningful contributions to the unity and progress of our dear Nations than himself. As a matter of fact Otumba Oyewole Fasawe should be informed that the Hon. Attorney General of the Federation Saved the Nigerian Government of $2 Billion Dollars, an illicit claim by Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC). We say enough is enough! To all those who sponsor campaign of calumny on this issue, more especially the renowned front to former President and monitor of Obansanjo’s PECOS Energy Limited Otumba Oyewole Fasawe, the Abacha family, Alhaji Atiku Abubaka etc, these are people who should have permanent accommodation in our prisons, they are allowed to walk freely yet they do not know their boundaries. Let us at this point make it very clear that we shall occupy the Senate in our numbers if any attempt is made to revisit the issue of Malabu’s OPL 245, especially because they have an ulterior motive. The world will agree that the victimization of Chief Etete has become too much. We also use this medium to draw the attention of the Senate as they are now specialist to probe Oil Blocks, they should consider the most lucrative and controversial oil block in the country OPL 246 of which 60% belong to the Abacha family, and 10% to Gen. T.Y. Danjuma, and 10% each to Gilbert chaguori as well as Roland chaguori. a block which has led the Abacha family to say even if they are broke they cannot be as poor as Aliko Dangote (African’s richest man), and even T.Y. Danjuma proudly said his 3rd and 4th generations unborn cannot see poverty (yet Nigerians are dying on daily basis as a result of poverty), these persons have not been probed, Nigerians are waiting, but they are busy sponsoring negative publications against Malabu’s OPL 245. We wonder why Malabu alone has been in the news, or is it that the Ijaw man is a born slave? Persons who do not know the number of creeks in the Niger Delta own more oil blocks than those who suffer the pollution and degradation. Meanwhile there are hundreds of oil block in dispute all over the courts in Nigerian whose owners are also known by the Senate, and some of them are even Senators, for example OPL 323 & 321 how come they are not being investigated. A comprehensive report at our disposal reviews that all those fighting and creating issues out of OPL 245 as simply using it as a smoke screen to distract and give the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan a bad image. We therefore warn that the activities of the Senate will do more damage than good to the unity of Nigeria, as it is designed towards disintegrating the country by way of directly putting the Niger Delta at a log ahead with other regions Finally, we call on our Senators to pay more attention on Girl Child Marriage, which is where their interest lies or perhaps they need more bribes from imaginary probes to enable them marry under aged children. Nigerians have taken too much from our Senate, this Malabu’s OPL 245 will be the straw that will break the camel’s back, if caution is not taken. ………………………………………………….. Amb.
