Much-ado-about-nothing! How does Robert Mugabe and his family holidaying in the Far East suddenly become a cause for a lot of noise and purported uproar? Hypocrisy and cheap clutching at broken straws by people too timid and cowardly to face realities and challenges. Mugabe has always lived large amidst mass suffering even here at home, moving around with a motorcade of over 30 vehicles. He enjoys that, without any resistance nor opposition at any level from a nation of submissive cowards. yes, us! Now, so did we think when he goes for his overseas excursions, Bob eats from the bin, or walks bare footed - for us to pretend shocked by pictures of his feasting? Heee, he must come back and attend to disasters and an ailing economy, the rhetoric goes! Phew - Robert Mugabe? What did he do about Chingwizi as he was ensconced in his comfort here and eating cake? We have a failed hypocrite and pretender in Mugabe, but we are equally largely a nation of hypocrites and pretenders as well, afraid to face our realities.
