Much conflict is unnecessarily heightened and prolonged through bureaucratic red-tape and structures. We need to understand that we live under a Constitutional Democracy and to that end, our leaders are really servants of the people, and as such, must be accessible to the people. It is vital that the people understand this so that leaders can be held to account. My next article will seek to demystify this question of accessibility and the related concepts of authority and agency. As much conflict is heightened through advancing through stages of negotiations only to encounter the old I dont have authority on this. Can anyone say ostensible authority?
