Much is being said about the Ray Rice tape,its sad it took this story to bring the horror of domestic abuse to the forefront. This subject is one that stirs alot of emotion in myself and others. The faces of victims may vary but the impact is the same. The abuser most times are master manipulators,preying on their victims mentally, physicially,verbally, in some cases also financially,anything to control. Silence,isolation are the abusers greatest ally,because the victims silence guarantees no one knows of their behavior, isolation keeps the victim in control and more prone to the abuse. If you are a victim, tell someone, reach out for help from someone, a family member, a friend, clergy, anyone who will stand with you. If you know someone being abused, make yourself available to them, encourage them to seek help, be honest with them because the sad fact is that abusers rarely change and the abuse will progress and gradually escalate without some degree of intervention. To my fb family, I challenge you to say NO MORE!!!!!
