Much like Rosa Evora--thank you just doesnt seem adequate to express what Im feeling. Thank you to all of the volunteers who gave their day to support us, in particular, mile 15 and 16 Colonial Road Runners water stop---and for all the hugs with November Project at mile 18 after the 1st hill---thank you to the BAA and law enforcement for keeping us safe--and to the medical personnel for keeping us healthy---thank you to the amazing spectators---good LORD, Ive never experienced anything like it before---every step of those 26.2 miles---seemed like nobody went home, lol. Thanks to all of my friends who rode the roads with me yesterday---you ALL have inspired me---to set goals and meet them---youve kept me company and motivated me through another cold winter of training---just show up has become my motto (thanks NP!!)---because when you show up, your burden is lifted by those around you. Thanks to my David Constantino for waiting 3 hours for me to finish---he was the first one I saw, with open arms, and there was no place I would have rather been Thanks to my family who have supported me along the way---was amazing to share the roads with my brother John Reilly and to have my Dad waiting for both of us when we finished---he mumbled something like wow, I have 2 kids that just finished the Boston Marathon (insert tears here)---nothing can ever take that from any of us. And, most importantly, thank you to the survivors of last years attacks---and to the families of the victims---it is YOU who have shown me what tough is---running a mere 26.2 miles is nothing compared to what you have all endured. I was lucky enough to share the roads with one of you, Monica Dprh, for many many training miles---and Im grateful for the gained perspective with each step. This is just one little story of literally thousands, but its mine---and I get to keep that forever. I am a proud woman today---and not just because I finished the Boston Marathon, but because I am part of the greatest city in the world, and am surrounded by powers of example everywhere I turn........we truly are BOSTON STRONG!
