Much like the NBC producers editing the 911 call in the Trayvon - TopicsExpress

Much like the NBC producers editing the 911 call in the Trayvon Martin case, to portray the shooter as a racist, the producers at KTLA television network edited the Rodney King tape to make it look like a senseless act of police brutality. In fact what the edited tape showed was the officers final efforts to subdue a deranged "duster" high on PCP. The other two suspects in the car did what they were told and went home without a scratch. What the producers did was cut the first thirteen seconds of the tape revealing only the last sixty-eight seconds of an eighty one second tape. The first part of the tape showed King lunging at the officers. KTLA won a Peabody Award for the tape and fifty-four people died in the ensuing LA riots.
