Multi - award Winning, International USA, UK, Anguillan & Iranian Poets for Jamaica Poetry Festival 2014 The annual Jamaica Poetry Festival takes centre stage on Sunday August 10th at Louise Bennett Garden Theatre, 36 hope Road, Kingston, Jamaica. Kindly see the attached feature on the internationally acclaimed, multi-award winning Poet, Dr Neal Hall and the Jamaica Poetry Festival 2014 flyer Poetry Day and Night Free Creative Writing Workshops - Celebrating Positive Self-expression: Our Creative Writing Workshops are designed and presented to effect positivity, therapy and renewal. The techniques have proven to be helpful in promoting social skills, values and attitudes. Therefore, we seek to balancing art and life as we aim to celebrate and promote positivity, creativity and socially responsibility in the interest of Jamaica. The Creative Writing Workshops will be led by Steppa and supported by Dr Neal Hall, JCDC among others.The workshops will be from 10am to 2pm. Poetry Showcase - Cultural Tribute: The Jamaica Poetry Festival 2014 Showcase - The International Edition: Begins at 7pm with a Special Tribute to Maya Angelou, Linton Kwesi Johnson, Mutabaruka, Oku Onuora, Benjamin Zephaniah, Amiri Baraka, Sonia Sanchez and Jean Binta Breeze. The Live Poetry Showcase features: Jean Binta Breeze (UK), Dr Neal Hall (USA), Alexis Ryan Anguilla) plus Shema Ahma (Iran). The Jamaican Poets are: Yasus Afari, Dr Sonjah Nyah, Dr Karen Carpenter, Steppa, Kellie Magnus, Maia Chung, Jean Goulbourne and Special Guest Artiste, Admiral Tibet, among others.
