Mum question: I am wondering if you have any advice for gentle transition to daycare. My boy is 10 months old and up to now I have been his main caregiver, responding to him as quickly as possible, putting him down for all naps, staying with him as he falls asleep. We havent even used a babysitter for a few hours. So this is a big change for him. He will be in 2 days a week, and so far weve been there together a few times and Im increasing the time hes there alone (hes up to 1.5hrs). He is ok for a while but then cries for about half an hour. The carers are lovely and comfort him but it doesnt stop his crying. Im worried about nap time, but my biggest question is the impact of daycare on him, and the fact Im not there for him when hes upset as I usually am - I worry that it might have the same sort of effect as CIO, or hell feel Im not there for him after all. This week he has been clingy, not wanting to be put down, and is waking a lot more at night time. I work in the building so will be able to go in to breastfeed him during the day. Just wondering if you have any suggestions to make it easier for him? Thanks so much,
