Mum question: I have a beautiful 19 month old boy. I went back to work 3 days a week when he was 6 months and been expressing ever since. I weaned him down to one expressed bottle aa day at childcare a few months ago and frankly I am sick of expressing! I want to stop expressing when I come back from Christmas leave but am happy to continue to feed on demand while he is with me. I guess that I am just struggling with worrying that he will be quite upset without that expressed feed at daycare. They do use it to settle him for the obe day sleep and I still breastfeed to sleep because he is so engaged in the world so is very difficult to settle to sleep without breastfeeding./Co sleeping. I know that you have some words of wisdom for me! Pinky says: What a great job you are doing! Would he accept a bottle of other milk - e.g. dairy or oat milk to help him settle at childcare or even a bottle of water? You may find he is so familiar with their routine that he may now just snuggle down when the other little ones nap, perhaps with a back rub or listening to some music. Its great that you are happy to keep up the breastfeeding connection and you may be able to talk to him about having boobie when you are with mummy but the boobies are finding it hard to make milk when he isnt with mummy so you can try some other milk at childcare - or some gentle explanation that he can grasp.
