Mumblemumblemumblehandsewingmumblemumblemumble... Long coat and little jacket are both done. Naturally, hand sewing takes longer than anything else, and I did the hems and buttons to fasten on a faux fox collar on the jacket. All the while Im finishing up all the zillions of little details the other jacket, the knee-length one, designs itself at me. I have to tell it to shut up and go fold itself up in the cabinet, because I am not sewing another ANYTHING today. The coat and jacket Ive made in the past two days have sat in my pile of fabric for literally two years waiting to be made, so Im glad theyre done. My objective is very much like it was with my garage: NUKE IT! Or to be more literal, make all the stuff that has been sitting there waiting. Since Ive got a little time right now, why not? So then, since Ive been handling the backlog one bolt at a time, the next thing is a chunk of textured stretch velvet thats been around about as long as the wool, and then, horrors, some blue wool that had had PAINT spilled on it, and I shall cut around the dusty white bits. Its a good thing that I love a challenge. My fabric will run out in a week or two, if I keep going at this pace, and thats just fine with me. What are you doing for fun other than work and FB? I hope it will involve being outside!
