Mums flat screen telly. It gave up a few days ago, just suddenly died. Id been noticing strange pops in the room and had suspected something was about to go. Reminded me of the sound my flat screen monitor for my PC made years ago just before it needed looking at. OK, so its the power supply. I took it apart and used my trusty ESR meter on all the capacitors. (My ESR meter has saved the day many times since I got it...:) There were a few suspect ones so I ordered some replacements. They arrived this morning and, while Mother was out shopping I changed those worst ones. Replaced the power supply and it fired right up...! Needless to say she returned from shopping and didnt even notice - I had to point it out to her...! Ha!
