Mundi Romani travels to Valjevo in Serbia’s Kolubara region to investigate the situation of Serbian Roma. We discover a large community living far below Serbian averages in terms of healthcare, education and housing. Our team discovers a remarkable local radio station broadcasting in both Romanes and Serbian and an innovative Roma NGO struggling to provide a better future for the Roma community. Led by a courageous group of young activists, these organizations are the best hope for improving the situation of Roma throughout the region. We follow Tanja Dimitrijevic, an amazingly brave radio presenter and activist from Nanomir who shows us the tragic legacy left by the war and 1999 earthquake. Though more than eight years have passed since these events, in the villages surrounding Valjevo, Roma are still living in containers. mundiromani/videos/?video%5Bvideo%5D%5Bitem%5D=71
