Municipality Warns Of Unpasteurized Dairy Products KUWAIT CITY, July 21, (KUNA): Kuwait Municipality called on citizens and residents here on Sunday not to buy unpackaged and unpasteurized dairy products from street vendors, or dairy products that have been packaged in unsatisfactory manner by non-specialized labor, saying consumption of such goods could endanger their health and is commonly seen in Ramadan. “The municipality’s regulatory bodies, with their branches across the country, are tracking and taking appropriate measures against sellers who don’t carry health certificates and tamper with expiration dates of products,” Director General of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al-Sebeeh told KUNA. Furthermore, Al-Sebeeh stressed such goods that are not manufactured and packaged in accordance to health standards and requirements are a public hazard. He called on the members of the public to cooperate and report any cases of violation of hygiene or health standards in stores or by roaming vendors. The municipality routinely confiscates such dairy goods, he said, and the inspectors issue violation notifications and the violators are referred to the competent authorities. Report: KUNA The official also urged the consumers to check dates of manufacturing and of expiry of all goods and to file complaint with the Municipality in case any violation was found or suspected.
