Muoboghare Orders Re-Opening Of Three Schools BY SUNDAYEGEDE DELTA State Commissioner for Basic Secondary Education, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare has ordered the immediate re-opening of two Primary Schools and the Secondary School in Ibrede, Ndokwa East Local Government Area. Prof. Muoboghare gave the order in Ibrede when he met with the Odion-Oligbo Traditional Council, elders and the youth of the community over the closure of the schools in May this year due to intra-communal crisis. He said that the Ministry took the decision to re-open the schools after it has been established that peace had returned to the embattle community particularly with the assurance from the people of adequate security for both teachers and the pupils/students. The Commissioner, therefore, directed the Chief Inspector of Education in the local government area and the Secretary of the Local Education Authority to reach out to all the teachers in the Primary and Secondary Schools to ensure that normal academic exercise start as from Monday, October 13, 2014. Muoboghare equally directed the Headmasters of the Primary Schools and the Principal of the Secondary School to use the first and second terms examination results to determine their eligibility for promotion to the next class, even as he appealed to the teachers to devote extra time to teach their pupils and students so that they could catch up with their colleagues in other schools. Addressing the people earlier at the palace, the commissioner admonished them not to allow the unfortunate crisis that dislocated the peace in the area to repeat itself stressing that the ugly episode had adversely affected the education of their children. While thanking them for safe guarding the school property particularly the computer sets and their accessories in spite of the crisis, Muoboghare advised the youths never to allow their elders and misguided followers to use them to perpetuate crisis in their town. In his address to the pupils and students, amidst jubilation, at the town’s square, the Commissioner told them that normal academic work would begin on Monday next week and then appealed to them to take their studies seriously.
