Museveni Frastrated by Kirr’s Insistency to Conduct an Election in June January 3, 2015 wangdunkon Home, News, Opinion, Politics, South Sudan For how long Mr. Kirr? For how long Mr. Kirr? Sources from Kampala has disclosed to Wangdunkon Media that President Yoweri Kagutta Museveni of the Republic of Uganda who has been the right hand ally to President Salva Kiir Mayardit of South Sudan is frustrated by the latter’s insistence to conduct an election in June this year. According to the sources, president Museveni first advice his counterpart in South Sudan to use the proposal for an election as tactic for the opposition to accept peace and he will be the president of the interim government which would run for about 3 years (almost to the four years terms in office as required by the constitution. President Museveni strongly believe that this election wouldn’t work out and will spoil many of his plan to maintain Salva Kirr in power with some truly acquired and recognized legitimacy as its currently. “The only way Salva Kirr would have legitimacy is through peace talk if we can’t defeat Riek Machar militarily. My objective after military resolution was to make sure that Salva Kirr remain the president of the interim government where he would get his legitimacy through peace agreement and lead the Country for the next three years” Disclosed Museveni, according to the source “Conducting an election this year as a mean to acquire legitimacy is something I can not advice them to do so; everyone including South Sudanese who are supporting the government of South Sudan knows that the election can not happen in that environment and if it does, it will be conducted because three quarters of the population will not vote. That will mean the election wouldn’t be recognized and there will be no legitimacy as I would want. Will I support an illegitimate government? continued Museveni Wangdunkon Media have learned that the election is being push by some inner circle within the government of South Sudan who believes having peace with Riek Machar’s rebel is a disaster to them as most of them will be kicked out of the government and even by their communities In next edition, Wangdunkon Media will try to publish the names of the individuals who have hardly been pushing for the election to be conducted in this unfriendly environment as a mean of acquiring legitimacy.
