#Museveni WHY DOESNT MUSEVENI WANT TO LEAVE POWER? WHOEVER ATTEMPTS TO RUN AGAINST HIM IS ALWAYS HARASSED AND NEUTRALIZED. Museveni is a revolutionary leader with a revolutionary mission that must be fulfilled irrespective of how long it takes. He is not a career politician who must quit office after a specific period of time. NRM is a revolutionary party that has an ideology to entrench which is unity and socio economic transformation. And the world is not in short of examples of such. For example, Julius Nyerere of Tanzania, Dr Mahatir Muhammad of Malaysia, Mao Zedong of China, Gen Lee Qan Yu of South Korea, Nelson Mandela of South Africa. Its only after they fulfilled their mission of transforming and uniting their people that they stepped down to witness the friuts of their vision. Secondly, from 1986-2006, Uganda was largely in state of war. It would be unfair if he left without ending this senseless war that ravaged most of northern Uganda. He needed to first end that war and then embark on social economic transformation of Uganda. Indeed we are currently witnessing influstractual developments in the different sectors of the economy. These developments are visible in the ICT, roads, railway, health, energy, and agriculture and education sectors. The results are here for everyone to see. Over and above, president Museveni also needed to consolidate peace after the end of the war and concretize the deplomstic culture in Uganda especially after periods of war and generalmunrest that occupied most of our post independance era.
