Music Day 2014 update and poster competition Music Day 2014 is coming together nicely and we are having a design competition for this years Music Day 2014 poster(s). This year looks set to be the biggest Music Day yet – which is easy to say as weve only had one proper go at it in the UK! But seriously though, we are lucky to have this years event fall on a Saturday and so theres little-to-no excuse not to get involved and organise an event, encourage others to do the same, perform somewhere public or simply turn up and have a dance. We are developing a new website which will have lots more info as well as a database system which will enable you to register as a host or a performer. All completed events will go directly onto the events map and listings page. This site is a vast improvement on our current site and will go live at the beginning of April. For now you can just email us back at [email protected] to express interest. Stay tuned! POSTER COMPETITION We would love to have some visual artists involved in our Music Day campaign and so we are having a design competition for this years Music Day 2014 poster(s). Please share this info with any visual artists you know! Basically what we are looking for is: We want to have one (or more) poster designs on our website which the organisers of Music Day events can download and use if they dont have the time/skills to make their own poster. The design needs to be an empty belly poster - this is where there is some space for the end-user to be able to stick their own text and event details. We will aim to make the designs available in the highest resolution possible, as we dont know what size people will need to print their own posters at ie. it could be from A4-A0! Further to this, if you can, please produce your poster in vector graphics then it can be easily scaled. We will run this competition until 31st March, so please get cracking and send over your design proposals to [email protected] up till that point. We will upload all designs onto our Facebook page, but please send them onto us first. The posters we are going to use will be uploaded onto the Music Day website on 1st April.
