Music School Development project in Kimberley – Phase 2 The project of establishing the MUSIC SCHOOL in the KIMBERLEY DIOCESE has reference. This venture is one of the REVOLUTIONARY steps to give new life to classical music in our District Church and it will help to establish joyful singing and music loving congregations. The event on the 23 February 2014 where the under-mentioned instruments were handed over was preceded by many hours of planning negotiations considerations and many prayers. The proposals were taken from our District Apostle’s initiative where we had to establish a MUSIC SCHOOL. We then embarked on a roll-out of classical instruments in the Kimberley area. In his address to the participants/leaners and parents the D/Evangelist Eugene Baise in particular reiterated the importance of core issues to ensure the success of this venture, being the following: 1) ENCOURAGE the learners to attend ALL lessons 2) He asked the rectors to make arrangements for the leaners to get to the venues where the lessons are arranged 3) Parents and everyone in the congregation to SUPPORT the leaners in all aspects. 4) CARE for the instruments properly – look after your investment. 5) Requested them to make a PLEDGE similar to that which the parents, the leaners and teachers make in the Sunday School to ensure COMMITMENT He also alluded to the story of a well-known pianist, STEPHEN DE PLEDGE from New Zealand that also had humble beginnings and excelled to become a very exciting innovative chamber musician of his generation as a renowned pianist in the world. By this he encouraged all leaners to reach to great heights and dream big. Finally a vote of thanks was expressed to our District Apostle, Apostle, Bishop, and the tutors present for the progress of the project thus far. The Dream – In August 2014 we want to showcase the fruit of our labours of love in Kimberley. Herewith as depicted on the collage the summary of the event that took place in Kimberley Central Congregation at 15:00 pm on Sunday 23 February 2014.
