Music That Really Sets A Mood #48: Philip Glass - Freezing More - TopicsExpress

Music That Really Sets A Mood #48: Philip Glass - Freezing More wintry than an Authentic British German Christmas Market. Nice video too, which has nothing to do with the artistes involved. This is minimalist classical composer Philip Glass, from his 1986 album of proper songs, Liquid Days. Music by Glass, words by Suzanne Vega, vocals by Linda Ronstadt, backing by the Kronos Quartet and the Philip Glass Ensemble. The album was quite a departure. Glass is always accessible, but by and large nowhere near this short. I always think of the comment by one of his sax players in a documentary. The usual stuff goes on for a long time and has a LOT of notes, endlessly arpeggiating like in this piece. He said something like: Some of the guys do circular breathing; me, I just take breaths whenever I need to. No ones going to notice a note missing here and there, are they. beggarscantbevegans.tumblr/ https://youtube/watch?v=Sf1kEgL7DVg
