Music Venue blueFROG Comes to Pune Pune: Mega music, food and beverage brand blueFROG will launch its club in Pune, India on August 19th, 2014. Pune has already been given a taste of things to come with the “Amphibian Series” taking place in their adjoining amphitheatre in November 2013, featuring Above and Beyond (UK), Fatoumata Diawara (Mali), Erik Truffaz Quartet (Switzerland), Anoushka Shanker (USA/India) and DJ Miss Nine (Amsterdam). The blueFROG Club will open its doors to the public on August 19th and bring in an enticing mix of live and electronic acts to Pune. Housed in the Ishanya Mall, opposite the Poona Club Golf Course, off Airport Road. The club has a state-of-the-art acoustic system designed by Munro Acoustics (UK), whose client list includes the likes of U2, Coldplay and A.R. Rahman; and replicates the acoustically treated “pod” seating of its siblings in Bombay and Delhi. It is fully equipped with a stage and top-notch lighting and also has a generous outer deck area with additional seating and bar. The open kitchen promises to deliver a mix of dishes made popular in Bombay and Delhi and also those specially created for the Pune venue. The two long bars will serve up cocktails made with only the freshest seasonal fruits – many of them house specialties exclusive to blueFROG. The club is a 65 cover indoor space with a covered outdoor deck that can accommodate over 200 people. blueFROG Pune has an added advantage in that the club adjoins an 800-seater and 2000 standing capacity open-air amphitheatre. Between the club and the Amphitheatre, Indian and international live concerts, electronica superstars, orchestras, dance performances, folk and classical music and theater will form a part of the blueFROG experience. The first live night at the blueFROG Pune club will be August 21st featuring sensational blues/rock band Soulmate from Shillong.
