Music changes, it evolves, but some change is not always good. What happened to the Stand-up group sound? Three, four, or five men combined vocal harmonies with a lead vocal. There was a time when we looked at a falsetto vocal as great. His vocal range went from tenor (or bass sometimes) through several octaves seamlessly. With lyrics that made sense, speaking of love lost, or found, hope and sadness. A voice that would make ladies swoon and brothers shake their heads and say, DAMM, I feel ‘ya bro wish I could sing like that…lol. I found one of those types of songs and one of those types of voices. His is truly a gift and he is one of the best in my humble opinion. Listen to voice of singer Phil Perry when he as Lead Vocalist of The Montclairs. And listen to the lyrics. What happened to a brother BEGGIN’ a little? Not bragging about what he’s got, what he told her to do, and what she’s already done to him or for what made her do. Love this kind of REAL SOUL MUSIC that is TIMELESS…Just sayin’
