Music has a mysterious quality. What is it that makes certain arrangements of tones appealing? Even birds seem to have a sense of the musical scale. Mozart had a pet starling that learned to sing the opening theme of the third movement of his Piano Concerto No. 17 in G, K. 453. Mary and I made a trip to Cozumel years ago and were driving around the island. We stopped at a scenic point to view the ocean near an expanse of low brush. We could hear a bird singing in the brush but could not see it. The song used the first 3 tones of a major scale and sounded like the music below. I would love to know what bird sings this song. If you know, please tell me. youtu.be/g7KkMK8PvgQ
