Music is an exceptionally hard, demading and challenging major. It challenges you in many ways; especially with ear tranning and theory clases. They seem to take up all your time, not to mention the time you spend learning a certain instrument; spending countless hours in practice time. The subtleties and delicate intricacies that are involved while playing complex melodies, harmonies, rhythms and chordal structures. As a former music major, I can tell you this much that its really hard to find jobs with. Although, people still do it and get jobs but chances are very slim in this economy. Most musician starve to death they get masters degrees in performance and then end up working at Mcdonnalds for the rest of their lives because no one hires them.
