Music is awesome, but it is also work. We do children a disservice when we sign them up for lessons only so long as theyre having fun and highly motivated to practice. Kids need parents to help maintain momentum and motivation. They need to be told to practice. They need to be encouraged to keep trying when the shine wears off the instrument and it gets a bit tough. It is worth working through hard things.
