Music means a lot of things to a lot of people. I recently had a good friend of mine raise the topic on his page about the songs that REALLY hit home to you, and have made a difference in your life. You know, the ones that if you hear them on the radio, you crank it, no matter what. It made me think and I came up with a bunch. Today, we have many lines, and ways of thinking that might separate us. Thats just how it is I guess. I have many friends in the Rock World that do Classic stuff and I love it. Quite often, we think, if someone digs classic rock they couldnt possibly appreciate some ancient folk tune, or a country dude couldnt get behind a screaming lead guitar and kickin double bass drum. You could be the red-headed step child in any genre, I guess, but when I was growing up, everyone knew where I came from. Anyone who grew up with me knows that I rocked with Sabbath, Judas Priest, Mettalica, the Scorps, and whatever...but I still dug Hank Sr., Waylon, Haggard, and Cash. I hope that diversity is still alive today, because we are constantly bombarded with reasons why we should NOT like the other guy, so much so, that I wondered just WHO it is that wants to keep us separate. Music unites and is a GOOD thing. The first ink I ever got was C.B.C.S. in honor of this tune. It just kept me grounded and reminded me of where I came from. It made me feel good. Il still thrash with any of my friends -guys or gals- in this, most awesome, Chicago music community. I just wanted yall to know. I appreciate your friendship :) ♥
