Music ministry versus music industry... I was a boy: primary school. I didnt know anything called gospel. My dad was a civil servant, a tutor. Im not sure he claimed born again, but he had a tape that bears a gospel song. The song was done in Yoruba. It translates thus: He that thinks he stands should take heed lest he fall. These are perilous times. Jesus return is imminent. I relished it again and again. Not because I was getting blessed. What does a pry school boy know about gospel in the very early 80s? I loved the melody. The singer was Evangelist Shola Rotimi. He sang with an accordion. Where is this man today? What does my generation of gospel singers sing today?! Ah! Shola Rotimi where are you? You warned me while I knew nothing. Today I know something and all the gospel singers around me sing of money, Jesus Azonto and breakthrough. I need some warning again. God bless you Mr Fola Babalola for reminding me of this song! Bola Are too sang in those days! Hmmm.
