Music, such an impact on our lives, all of our lives, from love to heart ache, from serious to silly, from nonsensical to full of deep meaning. Sometimes the lyrics accompany the music...often times the music accompanies the lyrics. The two feed off each other, but to me what evokes emotion, thought, contemplation....are the words, and good music emphasizes those words and forces them into your soul. And many times, from many different artists, the lyrics have something profound to say, you just have to read, or listen between the lines. There are numerous examples, from all different time periods, and many from any time period you choose that still resonate today....possibly forever. I almost played Ebony and Ivory....but were a long way from that, I almost played We Are Family...but we are a long way from that. So I chose this, and say what you want about Styx, but like so many others, if you read, or listen, between the lines it can force one to think, to contemplate....I wish more would do just that without politics or race in mind, but with an open mind, to....think, contemplate, release emotion positively. Miss America...its NOT about a beauty pageant winner, its about our country..so much progress made, now it seems as if one step up, two steps back...spotlight Ferguson. The Grand Illusion, is that what America has become?....Suite Madame Blue (America)....lead us away from here......
