Musicians/Artists, maybe you can answer this. How do you choose which gigs to take? Is it money, schedule, venue, promoter? Is it hard to to turn down a gig? Im asking because in my circles, (southern Ont Hip-hop), there are many scheduling conflicts, and in my opinion, many acts that are over-saturating the market, & over-playing by taking Bad Gigs. All around the city there are events with small turnouts, and line-ups filled with the same uninspired opening acts. More & more often, Im seeing promoters from outside the host city, trying to capitalize on the local market, and it failing. Musicians, dont you wanna play Big Events, with Packed Houses, and Get Paid? It makes it very hard for serious promoters, (ME!), to book you for a Big Event after you promote, and market these terrible shows all year. Respect Your Audience. Respect Your Brand.
