Musing from Orlando to Phx - Seat Number 26F. Finally back home to Phoenix. Interesting flight in so many ways. Boarded plane and found 26F (window) and quickly dosed off -- just wiped out. Woke up 2 hours into the almost 4 hour flight because was getting kicked in the side by a little 8 month old little boy -- he was restless and was being cradled by a little girl who later found out was his 11 year old sister. Decided to be friendly and struck up a conversation with the adorable little girl and her mom. Now remember this --- I was supposed to get back to Phx last night at 6 pm and did not occur because of tornadic weather in Florida -- tons of flights were canceled -- really was a little miffed at the whole deal -- but the delay allowed me to eat another meal with my mom / dad and spend some additional quality time with them. But ... my schedule planned for Sunday went by the wayside -- both church and work responsibilities missed. Back to mom, daughter and son. Learn this moms dad had flown to Florida from Phx. to pack up her and her four kids and bring them to Phoenix to live -- she shared that she had not seen her mom in 9 years. In addition, shared that the only things she brought on the plane was what could fit in the suitcases she had. This family was being brought back together today! I grinned from ear to ear! So -- Here is little old me having a pity party yesterday -- and look what I just experienced with the delayed flight. A daughter and mom renewing their relationship. A Dad who loved his daughter and probably forked over the cash for entire airfare for (4) people to get them to Phx to LOVE on them. She was a single mom .... And .... I wake up because an 8 month old kicks in the side because the sacred arm rest was lifted up by the 11 year old girl and my personal space had been invaded. Last night my mom pulled me aside and said go give your dad a big hug and really mean it -- he had knee surgery and the recovery has been tough on him. And .. I really did give him a hug -- like I really meant it. Why am I sharing this -- well sometimes I get tunnel vision. The 8 month old baby gave me a hard nudge to get my attention and my mom gave me a hard nudge to give poppa dude a big hug and LOVE on him. So -- the big guy up stairs slowed me down with the flight cancellation. My eyes were opened -- when going MOCK SPEED 24/7 I forget that there is a world outside of mine. Today, I had my church service in seat Number 26F at 34,000 feet flying across the greatest country in the world!
