Musing on Dirty Politics, and the issue of cognitive dissonance. Im trying to figure out why so many people are feeling *shocked* at Nickys revelations, when my reaction (and that of Duncan Garner and others) has been is that the best youve got? Clearly many of you are exercised, and I think I now understand why. Few of those who have read Nickys book have read my book Absolute Power, which sold around 26,000 copies in 2008, mostly to opponents of Labour. Nickys work appeals to supporters on the Left, so understandably the contents may be a shock... As I have said before however, Ive witnessed dirty tricks for nearly three decades, and on a much bigger scale than Nicky reveals. This is not to take away from Nickys revelations, but for those of us who have been around longer the revelations are not news. You should see what the mainstream media refuse to cover on a daily basis because it is too hot to handle.
