Musings On Modesty: 1) Modesty doesnt mean a woman has to hide her curves. 2) Modesty has a lot to do with attitude about whats decent. In some parts of Peru, naked may be decent. Its the idea of shamefacedness. 3) Modesty lack and lasciviousness arent the same thing, though they may be related. Judging peoples initiating motive may be counterproductive in bringing about a consensus in this area. In other words, because something may be immodest or lust enticing doesnt mean that is the motive or intent of the male or female person wearing the articles. 4) Modesty is tough on contemporary women because of the lack of accepted moral and ethical parameters. Thus the clothing choices are often debatable. 5) Mens abuse of control and womens emotional baggage has made modesty a struggle to even discuss, let alone implement. 6) Our attempts at modesty must be controlled by submission to God, guidance of The Holy Spirit, the love of Jesus, care for one another, and the Word of God. 7) Yes, we are our brother/sisters keepers and yes we must care how what we do affects them and how our response to them affects our relationship.
