Musings on Illusions on a Sunday morning: Life is like a mirror. It is all about how we look at it. It is about the angle from which we look at it. If we sit in a corner and look at it, we are seeing others and their faults and imperfections. It is only when we stand right in front of the mirror and look at ourselves; that we can see the wrinkles, the unkempt hair, the bags under the eyes and all that the others see as imperfections in us. Only when we face life full on, we will get a chance to iron out the imperfections and in the process learn to understand that nothing is perfect. With this realization, we will be able to look forward to life. Otherwise, all that we see is what is behind us or how imperfect this world is. There are no rights or wrongs in the absolute sense just like the images in the mirror. It is again about from where you see the things. That is why Gandhi is a villain for many people and Mother Theresa isnt a saint for a lot of people. Our Heroes are mostly what we would like to see in the mirror when we are in front of it. Our Heroes are what we would like to be. I believe we need to be careful in choosing whom we want to see when we stand before the mirror. Life will judge us in retrospection !
