Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) Calls "Salaam All, "MURIC must rise to the defence of the innocent but helpless girl Charity (Aisha) Uzoechinawho converted to Islam recently. While the Nigerian press and human rights community claim to uphold freedom of speech and freedom of religion, none of them has raised a finger in defence of Aishah. "MURIC must act now. It is one of the major reasons for the establishment of this Islamic human rights outfit, namely, to promote, project and protect the Allah-given and fundamental human rights of Muslims. There is no gainsaying the fact that the West, its asymmetric press and other human rights groups will stay in character by ignoring violations of the rights of Muslims. "We need to contact the Etsu Nupe urgently and get the facts of the case with a view to mapping out steps to be taken to guarantee the fundamental rights of Aisha. "Unfortunately we do not have a branch in Niger State. Here comes another good reason why branches must be formed in all states of the federation. Notwithstanding we believe that we have members of this forum who are based in Niger state. Such members can assist us now. "I therefore appeal to those of us on this forum who live in Niger State. Please write in, call or send SMS to this line 08182119714."
