#MuslimRant To those who may equate #ISIS and any other idiotic extremist group or ruler as a representation of #Islam, I would just like to let you know that if they truly were moral, upright people or #Muslims for that matter, they would understand the sanctity of human life. If they dig down to the basic tenets of Islam, the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (upon him be peace), they would understand that we correct our wrongs with right actions and commit no harm to others. They do not follow what the Quran teaches or what the Prophet represented. People are not perfect, but dont let extremists distort your opinion of any religion. I hope and pray that the media actually for once would shed light on truth instead of sensationalize and misrepresent something so beautiful. To those of my friends who feel Islam is how the media portrays it, I implore you to dig deeper and be more open to understanding the various situations going on in the world. To those of my #Muslim friends, we have a long journey ahead of Islam and how it is represented, in America and around the world. We need to help diffuse what mainstream media is sharing. There are effective ways and organizations doing what they can to help in this matter. Do your part to help move forward. Beyond just commenting or clicking from behind a screen, we must do more. Make a conscious and positively critical social effort to redefine who and what represents Islam. To all of my friends and family, I love you no matter what you believe, for the sake of #God and if I have ever done anything wrong or immoral, it is only a reflection of me, and not what Islam expects of me.
