Muslims Beat Scots At Being proud Britons. British Muslims are more patriotic than Scottish people, a poll for an Islamic charity suggest, only 13 percent said they were not proud to call themselves as British, compared with 17 percent of Scots. And 64 per cent said they were happy to indentify themselves as British, the survey for Islamic Relief showed, Veteran Channel 4 broadcaster Jon Snow said it exposed the reality behind misleading stereotypes and criticized negative headlines focusing on an extremist minority. He told a VIP dinner in Westminster last night; this poll paints a very different picture of the British Muslim community from the extremist caricature that is sometimes peddled by certain politicians and in some sections of the media. The survey found 70 per cent of Muslims share the some values on freedom, tolerance and the rule of law as prime minister d Cameron. The poll also revealed fewer Muslims than secular members of society think religious charity should only help those with the same beliefs it is estimated more than 100 million will be donate to charity admitting they would not give to a Muslim during the holy month of Ramadan which start on Sunday. But anti-Muslim opinion is wide spread, whith more than 60 per cent of people who donate to charity admitting they would not give to a Muslim relief fund about 25 per cent also said Ramadan should not be celebrated openly in Britain.
