Muslims of Byculla Assembly Constituency have decided unanimously to elect Muslim MLA this time. In a meeting of prominent Muslim Leaders of Byculla Assembly Constituency which was attended by more than 400 people from all across Byculla have decided following. -- As Byculla is a Muslim Dominated Constituency, there must be a Muslim MLA to represent the constituency. -- All such constituencies where Muslims are more than 35% must elect Muslim representatives. We are starting this from Byculla and people from other areas must also take this initiative forward. -- Muslims must bring a Positive Change for real Muslim Representatives who can talk about Muslim Problems and its solutions without any fear. -- The people in the meeting decided that the Candidate must be Well Educated and should have social background. People also stressed that the Candidate must be Secular and should take along the people of all religion and sect with him. -- To form a Core Committee for Byculla Assembly Constituency and start talking to all parties including AIMIM and finalize candidate. -- This meeting was called by Ahliyane Madanpura (The People of Madanpura) which is a densely populated Muslim neighborhood. -- This meeting was attended by people of Mazgaon, Dockyard Road, Ghodapdev, Mustafa Bazar, Rey Road, Madanpura, Byculla, Agreepada and Nagpada.
