Must see. This new exhibition, “Posters for Papp,” is in the Public’s Newman Theater Gallery and is a curated collection of 16 posters by Mr. Davis including some of his most memorable — Sam Waterston as “Hamlet,” “The Threepenny Opera” with Raul Julia and “Streamers” directed by Mike Nichols. “Joe Papp was quite wonderful, especially to me,” recalls Mr. Davis. “Joe didn’t come into this knowing everything. He changed and grew and learned things. He didn’t ever expect to be a big Broadway producer, yet that’s what happened in the same way I was on his coattails for 17 years.”
