My $0.02. Yes he profiled him. Yes the fact that he was carrying a firearm made him feel a lot more brave than he would if he was unarmed. Yes, that made him more inclined to follow and confront him. And yes, he was over zealous in the use of deadly force. But honestly, I feel the verdict has less to do with race, and a lot more to do with the fact that the prosecution did an abysmal job illustrating all of the above in a cogent manner. Perhaps being a white upper-middle class male has something to do with my feeling this way. But perhaps not. Regardless, my thoughts are with the two parents who have lost a child, and must now be suffering through the feeling that justice was not done. - R
