My 10 year old came home from school today and we talked about 9-11, and we talked about bullies, bullies in school and bullies in the larger sense, terrorists. I reiterated that his RESPONSIBILITY is to stand up for the oppressed. And then we talked about how Obama is not doing that. Its a sad truth and out kids need to learn it...we should be teaching history as it happens to help them understand politics and the complicated world they live in. I told him if you see someone bring bullied with words you step in with words. If you see someone getting beaten physically, then you get your fists up and defend them. We think politics is hard, and yet a 10 year old TOTALLY gets it. Bullies and terrorists pick on the weak and only respect a push back, a show of strength. Its been hard every year on 9-11 to have Obama as our president... This year, with beheadings and persecution of Christians and ISIS, its excruciating.
