Lily Allen — Sheezus (Parlophone) Here, Allen goes up against music critics and industry executives for pitting female artists against each other, only for critics to accuse her of attacking other female artists. Talk about missing the point. (To quote my girlfriend, Shes not attacking them, shes praising them.) Meanwhile, everything else about this track is top-notch, from that beat to one of the best pieces of lyricism this year: It makes me angry, Im serious/But then again, Im just about to get my period/Periods, we all get periods/Every month, yo, thats what the theory is/Its human nature, another cycle/Be nice to me, Ill make you one of my disciples. She doesnt need the crown to be Sheezus. Shell wear that Metacritic 60 with pride.
