My 1st Trip to the Mac Store - Tonight I accompanied Kacy to the Mac Store in Portland with Abby. While he was inquiring about his phone, Abby and I sat down on one of their couches to watch the television they had set up in their post-modern looking waiting area. Luckily, they were showing X2: X-Men United. So Abby and I were able to nerd out a bit while Kacy got his phone examined. While watching the film, two of the Mac Store employees meandered over and began talking. The following dialogue and thoughts occurred... Mac Guy: Is this the first X-Men movie? My Thought: No. Its the second... Mac Dude: Yeah. This is the first one. Mac Guy: Cool. Whos that little girl? My Thought: Its an illusion made by a psychic to mess with Prof. X Mac Dude: I think its the girl with the sonic scream... My Thought: I hate you... Mac Guy: Oh neat. Is this the one where Gandalf goes on a killing spree? Mac Dude: hahaha I would so watch that. Imagine him slaughtering orcs. My Thought: Guh. Mac Guy: It would be okay, since Orcs arent a people. Mac Dude: Theyre not a people? My Thought: Yeah... Please explain... Mac Guy: No, man. Theyre created underground. Like a plant. My Thought: Those are the Uruk-Hai, you worthless tool... Mac Dude: Im pretty sure theyre a people. Like, they have kids... Mac Guy: Imagine that... haha... An Orc woman... Haha Gross. My Thought: Imagine you... with any woman... haha gross. Mac Guy: Its crazy to think that this movie (X2) set the trend. Mac Dude: What do you mean? Mac Guy: Without X-Men, Iron Man wouldve never happened... My Thought: Youre twenty kinds of wrong. I hate you. Seriously. How can I trust these people to know about nerd stuff when they butcher pop culture knowledge with confidence? I wouldnt let this guy touch a comic book, let alone a piece of technology I owned. Mac Store? No thanks. Im pretty sure the nerd inside of me raged itself into a coma.
