My 2.5 year old son was bouncing around on my bed, as always, and refused to listen when I told him to stop before he gets hurt or hurts his baby brother whom I was nursing. Well, he fell off of my bed, again, but ended up hurting himself. After noticing him holding his arm to his side, crying in pain when hed try to move his shoulder, and swelling and bruising, I took him to his pediatrician. She sent us to the ER. After xrays, he has a broken collarbone. The break is apparently in a place that doesnt require surgery. The doctor said to have him wear a sling for at least two weeks and that the bones will grow back together. There is one problem: He is a strong-willed child, for lack of a stronger word, lol, and he ripped the sling off within a minute of it being put on and refuses to wear it. So, my question is, will the bones still grow back together? He keeps his arm to his side, so it is immobilized to some degree. Im doing my best to keep him resting but clearly it already feels somewhat better because he is climbing around, but using his good arm. Anybody have any experience or advice? Thank you! ~Lyra
