My #3 of my top 23 posts of 2013 holds a special place in my heart. I had written up a previous music video by Zach Sobiech and it had gotten a whopping 10,000 page views. A fan wrote me to let me know that Zach had passed away. I searched on YouTube and found an amazing documentary by SoulPancake about his life. The second I started watching it, I started crying. I lost my dad to cancer. I almost lost my mom. Me and my children are high risk when it comes to getting it. So it kind of gutted me. I spent the day testing it. People started tweeting and messaging me about the loved ones they lost. We all grieved together. While I was testing it started to go viral. Everyone thinks stories have to be short to hold an audiences attention. Yet our biggest hit ever, talking about death and how we cope with it, is 22 minutes long. 19 million pageviews later, you guys raised over $450k for research for a rare form of childrens cancer, and changed my life. Hopefully it changed a few others as well.
