My 42 year old sister had a stroke today. She had an amazing stroke team that was not scheduled to go live until Monday. They sprang into action and performed a new procedure on her - she was the very first patient. We were told they couldnt have done it yesterday. All I know is that she is back in CCU right now surrounded by an amazing team of doctors and nurses who cheered when she wiggled her toes in surgery. I am sitting in the waiting room scarfing down a Smittys burger and just being thankful.
