My 74 year old mother had to have a hysterectomy today. She is doing very well and is in a minimum of expected pain. Surgeon said she did better than woman half her age. She is spending the night tonight to get completely over the surgery portion and is going home tomorrow. She says that she was amazed and impressed with the DaVinci Robotics system they used. It only took about 2 hours as opposed to the predicted 4-5 hours. She was irritated they put her to sleep so she couldnt watch. I am this womans son. LOL I will say that growing up with only a Mom I was used to her having periods and bleeding. They did a partial in the 70s on her. They didnt know better then and it was more problem then help. Moral of the story, if your mom is over 70 and has still not gone through menopause it might be a good idea to see a Dr. The scare was that it might be cancer, the Dr, who does this all day said she had 2 polyps both looked binene and all should be good. This is a tough lady.
