My 8th grade Civics teacher at EJHS (Old Junior to her alum) once said a persons rights ended where another persons nose began. BUT, it didnt stop the person from swinging all day long. So, why is it that schools and other places suddenly feel they can trump the Constitution whenever they want? a school telling a Police Officer Dad he cant drop off/pick up his child because of his uniform...a person with a legal CCW permit is banned from campus...only because they posted an image of that CCW permit on Facebook...and so on. To me, this is like demanding that all visitors to a school or a store be searched, and handcuffed before entering. You have hands, thats a threat and we wont have that. Or it is like telling me i cant carry my insulin and a syringe with me because it gives off a bad impression. Really? these are the same folks who want to give condoms to 5th graders, who instead of sending punks to juvie hall or jail, they fund and build Alternative schools to house the uber violent kids (so they can learn how to get tougher?) There are times when common sense and discretion tells us when not to carry a gun. But the same should be said for these people who think taking away our guns is a good idea. Believe me, if i were a parent, i want that ex Marine with 5 deployments and a CCW permit walking around, packing as he picks up his children. i am certain that he will protect my child as much as he protects his own.
