My 9 year old nephew was asked to draw the prophet Mohammed saw along with his other classmates during his R.E lesson, as apparently a means of learning about Islam (the irony I know), he stood up and said that this is insulting to Muslims who are not allowed to draw the prophets. The teacher told him that even if he doesnt want to, others may do so as they do not carry the same beliefs. He sat down, fuming with feelings of humiliation and frustration and Mashallah stood up and said to the teacher I cannot be in the room whilst they are doing this. The other Muslim children in the class then stood up and joined him saying the same thing. The teacher had to place all the Muslim children in another class for the duration of the lesson.
