My 90 year-old mother is one tough nut. She was seriously ill last week, and I didnt think shed last more than a day or two. Today, she moved back into her apartment at The Joe Thomas Center at Richfield. She needs more assistance with a daytime personal CNA and her overall prognosis is not good, but she is stubborn. One of the great ironies of her particular form of dementia is that she honestly has no recollection of being in the hospital or being sick. While the CNA was in her bathroom tidying up, she whispered, I think that I must be in trouble. I had to chuckle.
